Help Stop Hate
The Institute for Healthcare Delivery Design is a small design and innovation studio which aims to enable healthcare, research and social service systems to better serve all people. I was hired to lead an engagement with the Illinois Department of Human Rights and its Commission on Discrimination and Hate Crimes to design and launch a new state-wide hate crime helpline, funded by US Department of Justice.
I built and led a diverse multi-disciplinary team through an intense research, network and service strategy initiative, focused simultaneously on short-term impact and long-term strategic planning. We visited communities across Illinois and heard heartbreaking stories which fueled our insights and design priorities for the helpline, intake form, and data strategy, as well as its surrounding partner and community networks. In October 2024, we launched Help Stop Hate at a press conference with Governor JB Pritzker, while developing a robust 5-year roadmap across operations, service, brand and marketing, and network initiatives.
